Blossom Sun Oval Plate

This aesthetically-shaped Japanese pottery "Blossom" dish resembles the chrysanthemum flower, the national flower and traditional motif of Japan.  The radiating streaks like petals, elaborately hand-carved by our craftspeople, help to focus the eye on the food.   The spacing of the streaks and the plumpness and roundness of the petals have been carefully selected to create the optimal correlation of beauty between the tableware and the food. 

The signature colour glazing makes the streaks on the petals more vivid and expresses a variety of hues. Depending on the nuance of baking, the outline of the streaks may appear yellowish or brownish and may vary for each plate.

All the pieces are handmade, so the shape, size and colour of each product are slightly different. In addition, small black spots, pinholes or similar cracks in the product itself are normal. This is a characteristic of pottery, not a defective product.
